This icon represents seven aspects of human being.
Each aspect is a nutrient for your mind, your life, and the world in which you live. Exploring and absorbing each nutrient increases blood flow to your Being. But, keep in mind, the fact that Thinking is the lead dog of human being and it will determine the course of your unique course of exploration.
Your Being is the core providing an interconnection between each of the six surrounding aspects. Being, to take a line from Shakespeare, represents a decision on the part of each individual on planet Earth: To Be or not to be? Each person must ask and answer this question for them self. Some ask and answer it actively with full conscious awareness of its importance. Others, in fact most others, ask it passively, by avoiding the asking and answering altogether think the question can be avoided. It cannot. The settle for following the crowd, passively accepting the decision not to be.
Thinking sits atop of the icon. It is in this position because it is what distinguishes people form all other living things capable of independent movement. This distinction is the ability form concepts. No other living thing can put a man on the moon, generate a contract, or create a document protecting the independence and freedom of the individual person.
Doing is simply the ability to put thinking into action. Thinking without action is a pastime. Turning thinking into doing is a project. The statement "action speaks louder than words" is not a truism but rather a truth. Talk is always cheap.
Feeling is the result of experiencing pleasurable or unpleasurable experiences. During our younger years, most of this experience is physical; hunger, hot or cold, wet or dry. With adulthood, feeling is more often the result of psychological experiences.
Imaging is about registering external and internal experiences into memory. Thinking, doing, and feeling, all rely on our ability to create images. Images are mental representations pictures, sounds, tastes, smells, and touch of things in the outside world. Or images are created to represent events occurring inside our bodies.
Learning is the process of building an understanding of the world and our place in it. This includes understanding how things work both outside and inside ourselves. Learning involves understanding the six other aspects in the icon.
Living is simply the application of every aspect of icon on a daily basis. It is the expression of our Thinking, Doing, Feeling, Imaging, and Learning. It is expressed in our external behavior, anchored to the core of our Being.
The exploration and application of the information presented in the seven elements will expand your mind, improve your life, and feed your Being.
